OUR GOAL
OUR GOAL
Midwifery Consultations
From pre-conception, during pregnancy (antenatal) and post birth (postnatal), consultations with our midwives are available to help guide you through the process.
Having a midwife as part of your pregnancy and birth has been shown to increase satisfaction with birthing experience, reduce use of medical pain relief and lower intervention rates.
Our midwives offer an initial bulk billed, no obligation phone consultation, where they can answer any questions you have around midwifery care. Book a 15 minute conversation.
-
Schedule comprehensive consultations to address your pre-conception concerns and goals. These consultations include discussions around individual health, lifestyle factors and habits, nutrition and supplementation recommendations, screening for underlying health conditions and advice on fertility awareness methods and timing of conception).
-
Thorough care throughout your pregnancy including all standard pregnancy checks (blood pressure monitoring, evaluation of weight gain, urine sample analysis, fetal growth and heart beat monitoring).
A generous amount of time is provided in these appointments allowing for questions/physical concerns, baby’s movements, emotional wellbeing, education, birth planning and breast feeding. If necessary, the midwives can order routine blood tests, ultrasound scans and prescriptions for issues such as nausea, vomiting or urinary tract infections.
-
After birthing our midwives can provide you with ongoing care for up to 6 weeks and 6 days post birth. These consultations can be provided in clinic or in your home. These consultations will include physical assessment of your newborn, guidance of baby care, sleep and settling techniques, support and advice on breastfeeding issues and emotional support and reassurance.
Antenatal Screening
Our midwives can provide routine genetic screening during your pregnancy. In particular, Genetic 3 Carrier Screening and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT).
-
This blood test analyses the risk of inherited genetic disorders such as Cystic Fibrosis, Fragile-X Syndrome and spinal muscular atrophy. Our midwives will provide you with counselling and guidance on family planning options based on screening results. They will also provide support and resources for couples navigating potential genetic risks and the associated decision making process.
-
This genetic screening blood test can be ordered in the first trimester to assess the risk of certain genetic disorders caused by extra chromosomes. This test can also, optionally, provide you with the sex of your baby. Results are usually available within 5-7 business days.
Acuneedling
Benefit from specialised support during pregnancy transitions through acuneedling sessions which can alleviate common pregnancy symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, hip and pelvic pain, emotional regulation and insomnia.
